Covid-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE – DARWIN PODIATRY

The situation with COVID-19 is rapidly changing with escalation in the number of cases within Australia and worldwide resulting in a pandemic being declared by the World Health Organisation.

It is clear that there is a very real possibility that large community outbreaks will occur across Australia, placing a significant burden on health, aged and community care.

At this stage we are not planning to reduce our services, however, this may change as the situation evolves. Updates will be provided through our social media channels, and our website

What Darwin Podiatry is doing:

  • Developing and updating our plans and protocols that are consistent with Commonwealth and local jurisdictional advice as it changes
  • Cessation of all international and domestic airline travel for our team
  • Screening of all patients for travel and health history
  • The supply of hand sanitizer at entry points and clinical areas
  • Frequent updates and reminders to staff and patients
  • The introduction of staggered bookings to reduce the number of patients in waiting rooms
  • The replacement of face to face non-essential meetings with teleconferencing
  • Liaising with our suppliers to ensure we maintain adequate PPE stock
  • Requesting no cash payments for services until further notice- EFTPOS payments are preferred

What we ask of you:

  • Inform us of any domestic or international travel within the last 14 days, and any isolation periods you have undergone
  • Inform us of any contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case
  • Inform us if you are experiencing fever, dry cough, sore throat or shortness of breath
  • Consider our waiting room environment and bookings process to facilitate 1.5 metre social distancing from other clients and our reception staff
  • Perform hand hygiene upon entering our clinics
  • Cover your mouth if you sneeze or cough, using your elbow or tissue, and disposing of the tissue after use

If you suspect you or your family member has COVID-19 you should call your GP or ring the national Coronavirus Health information Hot line on 1800 020 080

We will continue to keep you updated with relevant information if anything changes
