Laser Treatment for Fungal nails

Laser treatment uses infrared radiation causing fungal cell death. Laser therapy for treatment of onychomycosis (fungal nails) has been used for over 10 years as an alternative to topical and systemic antifungals. The number of treatments requires depends on the severity of the fungal nail infection and the amount of nails affected. Fungal nail treatment may occur multiple times per week, or once weekly for an average of five weeks. The procedure is painless and requires no anesthesia  – the laser warms the nail plate slightly during treatment, which instantly settles once treatment is complete. Normal activities are able to commence immediately with no post treatment pain.
